Search and Rescue Frequency Usage
It has come to our attention that the U.S. Coast Guard is concerned about unauthorized use of the International Search and Rescue System frequency band of 406.0 to 406.1 MHz. This frequency band is allocated worldwide for the SARSAT system and transmission in this frequency band is causing interference to their search and rescue system.
As a manufacturer of RF equipment that is capable of operating in that band, Dataradio would like to remind users that the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) has treaties or agreements with all countries regarding the use of this band, and it should not be authorized for use anywhere.
We appreciate your cooperation and adherence to the licensing and restrictions regarding operation at 406.0 to 406.1 MHz.
